Research Fellow, Washington University, St. Louis, Mo, USA (1976-1977). Associate Professor of General Surgery in the Department of Surgery of the University of Padova (1985).
Member of the Advisory Boards of the Italian Society of Coloproctology (1997-2002), Italian Society of Urodynamics (1998-2006), Interdisciplinary Society of the Pelvic Floor (1996). President of the A.I.STOM (Associazione Italiana Stomizzati) (2006).
Editor of the iournal “Pelvi-Perineologia / Rivista Italiana di Coloproctologia”, member of the Editorial Board of following journals: "Techniques in Coloproctology", "International Journal of the Proctological and Perineal Diseases", "Urodinamica, Neurourology, Continence and Pelvic Floor", Colorectal Disease).
Main fields of clinical experience and research: physiopathology and surgery of colorectal and pelvic floor diseases.
Bruce Farnsworth, MB BS (Sydney), FRCOG (London), FRANZCOG
Dr Bruce Farnsworth graduated from the University of Sydney in 1981. He undertook his Specialist Training in Gynaecology at Westmead Hospital, Sydney and Royal United Hospital in Bath, UK.
In 2000 he established the Centre for Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery at Sydney Adventist Hospital and is also a Visiting Medical Officer at Prince of Wales Private Hospital and Westmead Private Hospital. This is a multidisciplinary clinic with gynaecologists, urologists and colorectal surgeons. Dr Farnsworth has published original work in the fields of genital prolapse and urinary incontinence.
He regularly conducts workshops in Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery at Sydney Adventist Hospital and at Conferences and meetings around the world. Dr Farnsworth is a member of the International Continence Society and the International Urogynaecology Association. He is currently the Vice President of the Australian Association of Vaginal and Incontinence Surgeons.
Dr. Pierluigi Lucio
Born in Dolo, Venice, Dec. 20th 1970. Married, 2 children. Graduated in Medicine at the University of Padova, Italy, she undertook her specialist training in gynaecology at the University of Padova and became Specialist in Gynecology and Obstetrics in 2000.
Member of the Società Triveneta di Ginecologia e Ostetricia and of the Associazione Italiana di Urologia Ginecologica e del Pavimento Pelvico. Active (2000-2004) in outpatients departments, including the Associazione Italiana per l'Educazione Demografica. Since 2004 employed in the Operative Unit of Gynecology and Obstetrics of the City Hospital connected to the University of Padova, with the financial support of the Istituto Oncologico Veneto. Secretary for the editor of the journal Pelviperineologia printed by La Garangola, Padova.
Special clinical interest in urogynecology and urodynamics, particularly in the functional diseases of the pelvic floor and the menopause.
